You have the choice to either give an in class paper presentation, or prepare a 2-page (1000 word) survey on a research topic of your choice.
You may select a research topic from proceedings of major computer architecture conferences or journals, here are a few suggestions:
ISCA: International Symposium on Computer Architecture
MICRO: International Symposium on Microarchitecture
HPCA: International Symposium on High-Performance Computer Architecture
ASPLOS: Architectural Support for Programming Languages and Operating Systems
