Submission Instructions The submission format for Discussion Search and Known-Item Search is TREC's standard format for run files, (closely related to the qrel format): topic Q0 docno rank sim tag Here, topic is the topic number, Q0 is the string "Q0", docno is the document id taken from the DOCNO field of the text, rank is the rank assigned to the document, sim is the document-query match score, and tag is the run tag. White space is used to separate columns. The width of the columns in the format is not important, but it is important to have exactly six columns per line with at least one space between the columns. A precise specification of the fields is given at the Robust Track Guidelines (heading "Format of a Submission"). For each discussion search topic, you may return up to 1000 documents for each topic. For known-item search, you may return up to 100 documents for each topic. Upon submission, you are asked to enter the run's metadata in a web form, which includes a manual/automatic and title/title+narrative classification of the run's approach. Please remember to NOT INCLUDE THE TRAINING TOPICS in known item submissions!!! The active participants site has a perl script to check your submissions.
